Massage is used in the treatment of various diseases of almost the whole body. It helps with arthritis and neuralgia, varicose veins and flat-footedness, scoliosis, radiculitis and many other diseases, including even dermatological, for example, psoriasis and eczema. It is indicated for general fatigue, insomnia and certain nervous disorders. People whose activity is associated with constant physical exertion and excessive activity cannot do without it. And it comes to people whose profession, on the contrary, does not require mobility – from secretaries to museum workers.
The therapeutic effect of the massage is the result of two components. The first is the physical impact on diseased areas, that is, directly massage (in the narrow sense of the term). The second is the effect of concomitant agents, which more often include oils and ointments, and more rarely, solutions, as well as powder and vegetable mass, which are applied to the affected area after the massage.
Additional funds are selected in accordance with the purpose of the massage, and here it is important not to miscalculate or encounter a person who believes that everything is suitable for a massage. Please note that it is inappropriate to try to treat the inflammatory process in any tissue with a massage with lavender oil, which does not have any anti-inflammatory effect, and you should not use blood circulation accelerators in the same way if the massage should help a person fall asleep.
Many massage oils, the same lavender, are so familiar to people who first encounter massage practices that they seem to be universal. This is not true. Determine the exact purpose of the massage and ask the massage therapist to use those tools that match this goal. “Universal” is not here.
When effective massage with amaranth
Amaranth in massage practices is used in two forms: in the form of amaranth oil and in the form of a mass of boiled leaves and flowers. Amaranth oil produces a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, so it is used in almost all types of massage, which is designed to reduce inflammation. It has a regenerating effect in case of damage to muscle tissue. Amaranth seed germ oil is used to treat and strengthen joints, most often in cases of osteoarthritis of the knee joints and problems with the metatarsal bones. The benefits of massage with amaranth oil are also observed when:
- cervical radiculitis, pinching of the vertebral nerves and other problems with nerves in the back (hypothermia, inflammation, etc.);
- back pain due to prolonged lack of physical activity;
- pains in the back, shoulders, arms, caused by excessive physical exertion;
- neuralgia of the solar plexus;
Radiculitis, both cervical and lumbar, is also treated with compresses of boiled dried amaranth, and for psoriasis it is recommended to alternate massage and compresses with amaranth oil (which we already wrote in the material about amaranth oil for psoriasis).
We will tell you in more detail how massage with amaranth helps with various diseases and disorders. Today we will talk about the problems with the muscles.
Massage with amaranth for crepture
Everyone knows what fastener is – muscle pain the next day after long walks and sudden work in the country. Familiar with her and the people who, after a long break, again came to the gym, and many others. Pain caused by damage to muscle fibers. Like a bol-mishcah-nog, there is no such inflammation, stretching and, even more, tearing of tissues, but due to oxygen deficiency, which happens during unexpected intense physical exertion, some of the substances accumulated in the muscles do not oxidize and cause irritation. Accordingly, the stronger the load for which the body was not prepared, the stronger the irritation and pain.
Amaranth accelerates the breakdown of acids that accumulate in the muscles and cause irritation. Therefore, rubbing amaranth oil helps muscles recover faster. The combination of rubbing oil with massage enhances the effect, as well-performed massage restores normal blood circulation.
Note! When rubbing oil and massage during the squeeze it is impossible to press hard on the diseased areas. For damaged fibers, this will be another “blow” from the outside, which will slow down the recovery process, and in some cases, with very inept massaging, will intensify the damage.
The process of rubbing oil and holding massage with crevice
Amaranth oil should be applied to the affected area. It should moisten the skin, but not drain it. If the oil is too much and it flows, it will be inconvenient to rub it in, so it is better to remove the excess with a napkin.
To begin the massage should be with pressing medium force with several fingers at once.
Be sure to specify in which direction to massage on the damaged area. You can see it in any book on massage or on the Internet, since the directions, with rare exception, are the same. For example, foot massage should start from the toes to the heel and further up, and if your calves hurt, then go, respectively, from the ankle to the knee, and not vice versa.
About 4 minutes are allowed for this stage. Time may fluctuate, but there should be a feeling that “the blood was running”, the muscle was warming up. After that, you can proceed to the second stage.
The second stage – kneading. Imagine that you have the dough at hand, and “knead” it, but not much zealous. The pressure should be pleasant, not painful, and the grips of the skin and muscles in which the pain intensifies should be avoided. Your task is to rinse all the damaged fibers, but not damage them even more. To assess the effectiveness of kneading can be on the stiffness of the muscles. If you feel that some kind of kak-sdelat-sebe-massag part, even deep inside the muscle, still tense, stretched, rigid, continue to knead until all the tissues relax.
The third and final stage is stroking. At the same stage, the final rubbing of the oil is performed. If it is absorbed during the execution of the first two, apply a little more. Movements need to be done in a clockwise direction, alternating stroking with rubbing. They differ in the degree of pressure: rubbing involves a little more pressure, stroking – just touching, only skin, but not muscles. Usually this stage takes about twice as long as the first. That is, if you spent 4 minutes on the first, then you should spend 8 minutes on this, but if you spent 8 minutes on the first, then there is no need to hurry – stretch the final stage for at least 14 minutes.
After the massage, the damaged area requires complete rest and warmth for at least half an hour, better – an hour. Later, you can continue with domestic affairs, but it is important to keep sore muscles warm and not overload them.
Massage with amaranth for muscle inflammation
In medical circles, muscle inflammation is called myositis. Usually, all myositis in clinics is treated with the help of physiotherapy, acupuncture and massage. Only with serious polymyositis (inflammation of several muscle groups, passing on to others) are prescribed medication anti-inflammatory drugs. Sometimes myositis causes associated diseases from the simplest type of ARVI to serious types of gout. Here, traditional medicine is also powerless: the source disease should be treated, and massage and physiotherapy can be used except to alleviate the condition of the patient.
But these cases are rare. Often the muscles are inflamed due to hypothermia, increased exercise and other excessive loads. Inflammation has a one-time nature and is eliminated fairly quickly. Light myositis can be treated on its own.
How to recognize myositis
If you feel that a certain muscle or muscle group has become very sensitive to cold, reacts to the slightest change in the weather, it hardens and hardens – you are faced with inflammation. It is best to start treatment immediately. First of all, you need to provide her with warmth and peace – this is almost a universal rule for problems with muscles. In the second – do a massage with some anti-inflammatory agent. If you have amaranth oil, feel free to use it.
Important! Do not try to warm up the unheated muscle during the day. Wait for the moment when you can provide her with complete peace and give an hour and a half.
Massage preparation for myositis
In the inflammation of the muscles, amaranth oil and amaranth compresses are successfully used.
Prepare a decoction of dried leaves and flowers of amaranth in advance at the rate of 80-90 g of raw material per 1 l of water. Make sure that the raw material is enough for a compress, which should close the entire diseased area and slightly go beyond it. In other words, if the inflammation is extensive, take 160-180 g for 2 liters of water, about 300 g for 3 liters and so on.
Boil amaranth need 6-7 minutes on low heat, and then leave under the lid for an hour. After this, strain the massazh-golovy-i-volos-s-teplym-maslom2 liquid into a separate container (the broth can then be slightly diluted and drunk, it can be used for rinsing in the presence of other diseases or for prevention). Wrap flowers and leaves in a clean gauze and put in a container with a decoction so that they do not cool. Place a container nearby.
Massage should be carried out in a warm room, where the temperature will be 22-24 degrees. Otherwise, the pressure on a cold or rapidly cooling down muscle due to cool air can damage even more. For the same reason, amaranth oil should be slightly warmed in advance.
Massage with myositis
Massage for myositis also consists of warming, massaging directly and the final stage, however, the pressure on the muscle should be less than in the process of pre-massage.
Stages of home treatment with massage for muscle inflammation
Apply amaranth oil on the inflamed area.
In a circular motion, begin to rub the inflamed area. The task is to increase blood circulation. Horizontal and vertical movements can be used, but all movements should be consistent, not chaotic. The process should take at least 5 minutes.
Cover the area with two palms. Perform a circular motion, trying not to sever the contact of the palms and skin. At the same time lightly press on the muscle. You can press down until you get too strong discomfort. So you calculate the range of allowable pressure.
By increasing and decreasing the pressure within the range, begin to minus the muscle in different ways. It is permissible to squeeze with fingertips, loose grips, palm massaging, in rare cases massaging with knuckles. If you feel nodules in the muscles, try to wash them. This is the main part of the massage, so it should be given about 10-15 minutes.
Calm the muscle with light warming strokes.
Wipe off any excess oil with a tissue.
Squeeze the gauze in the broth and put the amaranth compress on the inflamed area. Cover the top with a warm blanket to keep it cool as long as possible.
Important! Compress should be warm. If it is hot, wait a few minutes for it to cool. At this time, the sore muscle should be wrapped up and completely relaxed.
After about half an hour the compress can be removed. If it has cooled down earlier, soak it in warm broth, squeeze and put again.
After removing the compress muscle needs to ensure complete warmth and peace.
Massage with amaranth products for myositis is recommended 2 times a day if it is combined with other procedures, and 3-4 times a day if physical therapy, acupuncture and other treatment methods are not involved.
Recommendation. Try, if a muscle is inflamed or damaged, do not keep it in a relaxed state all the time. Loads should be avoided, but in order to avoid stagnation of blood, it must be moved from time to time – so it will recover faster.
