RATIONALE FOR THE USE OF AMARANTH OIL IN MEDICINE FOR TREATING DISEASES OF DIFFERENT TYPE

Amaranth is becoming an increasingly popular plant. Such popularity should not be surprising. Since in the products of processing of amaranth harvest, directly in the plant itself, a large number of positive substances important for the normal functioning of the internal organs of the human body are found.

Special mention deserves such a product processing of seeds of amaranth, as amaranth oil. Especially when it comes to cold pressed oil – that is, in which the seeds do not heat up above 40 degrees. Today, amaranth oil is successfully used in food production, creating innovative anti-aging cosmetic products, medicinal preparations and biological active additives that help to resist even the most dangerous diseases.

Constant clinical and laboratory studies of amaranth oil prove that it is really effective in the prevention and treatment of various diseases. Despite the existing evidence, many scientists continue to investigate the product, the purpose of such research is to find new data, to find new opportunities to use a unique product. In particular, to finally be convinced of the use of oil in clinical practice.

A bit of amaranth history and its research
In Europe, amaranth appeared in the 16th century, the Spanish conquistadors who conquered Latin America and destroyed plants on a new land brought it here. Amaranth became so popular that even the Swedish Queen Christian Augustus in 1653 founded the order of the gentlemen of Amaranth.

There is information that allegedly during the reform period of Peter I, an order was issued, according to which it was forbidden to grow amaranth and consume bread from amaranth, which was then the main food of the Russian population. (However, such information is subject to doubt and has not yet been documented to confirm the existence of such a decree).

Only at the end of the 19th century, interest in this amazing plant was restored. In the 20s of the 20th century, scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA can be said to have reopened culture from ancient times in the mountainous regions of the Andes, where the plant was still cultivated. In other regions of Latin America, culture has actually been lost. Now amaranth every year wins more and more fans in different regions of the planet.

The popularity of amaranth in Ukraine is due to the world-famous academician Nikolai Vavilov, who brought him to the territory of the then Soviet Union. It is indicated that he assumed the future popularity of amaranth, considering that in the 21st century it will be the main grain crop. And in general, Vavilov was not mistaken, because even the UN recognized the value of amaranth! And now, year after year, the popularity of culture is increasing. Considering that it is only 2018 in the yard, it is quite possible that a couple of decades will pass and by the middle of the century amaranth will still take the leading position.

If we talk about the use of amaranth, in particular its oil, in medical practice, today research works are being conducted at various Russian institutes and research centers: St. Petersburg and Kazan Universities, the Research Institute of them. N.V. Sklifosovsky, at the State Medical Academy. N.N. Burdenko (Voronezh).

Specialized amaranth studies are being conducted regarding its use in medical practice by Ukrainian scientists, researchers, doctors, and specialists in the field of healthy nutrition. In Lviv National Medical University. Danila Galitsky made a number of scientific works on the use of amaranth oil in cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the endocrine system, in particular in diabetes, and also proved the positive effect of amaranth oil on athletes health.

Why amaranth and its products are recommended for daily consumption
Today amaranth confidently walks the planet, its healing properties are adequately evaluated in all regions of the planet.

Scientists from different countries of the world have proved that this plant performs the virtually impossible, including the absolutely impossible for any, even the most powerful chemical drug – it launches special processes of self-regulation and self-restoration inside the human body.

If we evaluate directly the benefit and composition of amaranth oil, then it should be noted that its composition contains the following positive and important for the body “ingredients”:

  • the whole range of fat-soluble vitamins A, E, F;
  • a large number of diverse biologically active compounds, first of all it is necessary to highlight the high content of high-quality plant
  • proteins;
  • vitamins;
  • macro and microelements;
  • choline, phytosterols;
  • and squalene.

Squalene – a special substance for decades remained a very expensive and inaccessible tool for rejuvenation and recovery, because it was obtained only from the liver of a deep-sea shark. However, earlier studies have shown that the content of squalene in the cold-pressed oil obtained from amaranth seeds is 4-5 times higher (up to 8%) than in the liver of a deep-water shark.

Squalene is unique in that it saturates the tissues and cells of the body with oxygen, activates the metabolism, stimulates the immune system – generally has a strong healing effect on the body, enters into a chemical reaction with water, as a result of which oxygen is released, which saturates tissues and organs.

Scientists quite rightly recognize squalene as an antitumor agent that helps prevent the formation and development of tumors of various types and in different parts of the body.

Why vitamin E and phospholipids are so important in amaranth oil
In addition to the above-described squalene, a liquid control type of vitamin E has a powerful effect on the human body. As was established in the course of research conducted by scientists from different countries, this type of vitamin E is 40-50 times more effective than ordinary tocopherol forms. The studied oil extract is widely used in the prevention and treatment of various diseases and ailments. Among these are the following diseases:

  • cancer pathology;
  • atherosclerosis;
  • disorders of cerebral and peripheral circulation;
  • immunodeficiency;
  • bedsores and ulcers of various types and types;
  • avitaminosis and skin problems;
  • diseases of the digestive system, gastrointestinal tract, stomach and liver.

It is used for the prevention and treatment of colds and viral diseases, gastroenterological pathology, diabetes and urogenital pathology.

It was found that amaranth oil extract restores the protective reactions of the body. A beneficial effect on the metabolism process, lowers the overall level of cholesterol in the blood. This effect is achieved due to the presence in it of phytosterols, which block the absorption of cholesterol from the gastrointestinal tract, prevent its excessive entry into the body.

Therefore, MEA when administered orally is an excellent preventive and therapeutic agent for atherosclerosis, hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. Amaranth has a great bio-energetic activity, gives the right to consider it almost the ideal activator of plant immunity.

Oncoprotective characteristics of the oil extract obtained from amaranth seeds
The protective properties of amaranth oil and squalene have long been known. They were installed during laboratory studies. Including, it is about carrying out profile experiments. In particular, it was found that the oil extract:

  • improves liver function;
  • beneficial effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines;
  • neutralizes cells of pathogenic microorganisms;
  • binds and removes decomposition products, radionuclides, salts of heavy metals from the body;
  • provides effective healing of wounds of any type, scratches;
  • significantly increases the overall effect of the treatment of infectious, septic and other diseases.

Treatment with amaranth oil is ideally combined with any other type of treatment, as it neutralizes any side effects, occurs after taking medications, normalizes blood and urine indicators.

However, it must be borne in mind that the effect of the use of MEA is achieved with continuous use of at least 3-6 months. This period is necessary in order to ensure the gradual restoration of the lost functions of organs, cells and tissues.

Rules and regulations for taking amaranth oil extract for various types of ailments
Internally, it is recommended to use amaranth oil for 1-3 teaspoons daily about half an hour before meals, but at the same time – it is not washed down with water. Before use and pour into a spoon, be sure to shake the jar. Not less than 200-300 ml is used for one course of treatment, 100 ml of prophylactic course twice a year (in the off-season – the beginning of spring and the end of autumn).

Outwardly, an oil extract of amaranth oil is recommended when dermatological diseases appear and appear, in which case it is necessary to apply the oil to the affected skin (mucous membranes) twice a day (morning and evening).

Intranasally (through the nose) MEA is used according to the following scheme:

  • the first 7 days 1 pipette 7 times a day;
  • further during the week, 1 pipette three to four times a day;
  • in the future, 1 pipette twice a day for 2 months.

In case of a disease of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, MEA is used as a rinse (morning and evening). It is enough to hold in the mouth for a few minutes 1 teaspoon of oil, then swallow.

Vaginally use tampons with MEA 1-2 times a day. Perhaps the use of suppositories “Vitol” with amaranth and calendula.

At use of MEA the choleretic effect is noted. The first 2-3 days may be slightly dizzy, associated with the active saturation of blood with oxygen and an increase in the intensity of skin respiration. From the first methods, an increase in appetite, loose stools or constipation.

Amaranth oil extract as a source of squalene
MEA is a source of squalene, which belongs to triterpins – an intermediate product in cholesterol biosynthesis, a precursor of steroid hormones, which increases the activity of the immune system, provides the body with resistance to diseases.

Squalene has a unique ability to bind oxygen, provides the body’s need for oxygen during respiration, especially in cardiomyocytes. As an antioxidant, in combination with vitamin E, it protects cardiomyocytes from damage that leads to the accumulation of cholesterol plaques on the artery walls.

Certain concentrations of squalene (860 mg / day) help reduce atherogenic cholesterol (LDL), increase the level of anti-atherogenic (HDL).

US National Education Program
The American national educational program highlights recommendations that prove the feasibility of daily consumption of amaranth oil. Normalizing the concentration of LDL cholesterol (low density lipoproteins) and HDL (high density lipoproteins) leads to an increase in blood flow, and in combination with PUFA omega-3 (polyunsaturated fatty acids) – restores the erythrocytes to physiological deformation, significantly improves the blood supply to tissues and organs.

Recommendations for receiving amaranth oil
Amaranth seed oil extract is recommended to be taken even just for preventive purposes (in spring and autumn). It is advisable to apply it before and during the period of increased physical exertion. Amaranth oil is referred to as membrane-protective agents, since it is characterized by a high content of biologically active substances and compounds, including:

  • tocopherol;
  • squalene;
  • unsaturated fatty acids – here such important acids as oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids are present in large quantities.

What exactly was established by Lviv researchers
Studies conducted in Lviv Daniil Galitsky National Medical University proved that the use of the product in the conventional therapy of people suffering from such cardiovascular diseases as stable angina, significantly increases the effectiveness of treatment. In particular, it should be said that their overall condition is improving. As well as increases exercise tolerance, which can significantly reduce the number of doses and reduce the dose of antianginal pharmacological agents.

Ways to achieve positive results are based on increasing the adaptive capacity of a person, restoring previously impaired functions and processes using amaranth oil in the context of the POL-AOD system.

Research in the Department of Clinical Nutrition Clinic of the Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences
The study of the effectiveness of amaranth oil on lipid peroxidation and antioxidant defense in patients with cardiovascular pathology was performed at the Department of Medical Nutrition Clinic of the Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. When conducting research, amaranth oil was consumed by patients 4 times a day in 3 ml (100 mg of squalene – 25% of the adequate level of consumption), 6 ml (200 mg – 50%), 12 ml (400 mg – 100%) and 18 ml (600 mg – 125%) per day. In addition to the traditional course of treatment, anti-atherogenic diet, exercise and hydroprocedures were applied.

As a result of the study, it was found that the use of amaranth oil and an anti-atherogenic diet in patients with coronary artery disease (ischemic heart disease) with accompanying arterial hypertension and obesity contributed to pronounced positive changes in the POL-AZK system (lipid peroxidation and blood antioxidant protection) proportional to the dose of squalene.

Under the influence of a low-calorie diet containing 200 mg of squalene NKD-200 and NKD-400, an increase in the activity of glutathione reductase (GH) by 47 and 42% was noted.

A significant increase in catalase activity is observed at NKD-400 – 37%. In the comparison group, an increase in the activity of GH and catalase was expressed to a lesser extent – 9 and 23%, respectively.

Attraction to the complex of treatment means that are able to activate aerobic metabolism and improve the balance of the prooxidant / antioxidant system, is necessary to increase the adaptive capacity of the organism.

Such means, according to the authors of the study, can be natural sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), among which one of the most promising sources is amaranth seed oil.

The prooxidant effect of MEA in patients with Hp-positive perforated duodenal ulcer provides activation of aerobic metabolism, which helps prevent an increase in beta-LP, as opposed to their significant growth during standard treatment.

The use of amaranth oil in endocrinology deserves special attention. In patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, the individual nature of oxidative stress, energy and membrane potentials, oxygenation of cells and tissues has been proven. Selection of amaranth oil

It has been established that diabetes mellitus is accompanied by oxidative stress (OS), which may be due to various mechanisms in the formation of active oxidants, a decrease in AOS activity, the result of dysfunction of glucose metabolism enzymes, prostaglandins of mitochondrial oxidation.

Amaranth oil is used in the treatment of patients with diabetic foot syndrome. It is prescribed per os as a means of increasing the adaptive capacity of the body, to improve the coronary and peripheral circulation, reducing the level of glucose in the blood.

For dressings, ozonized amaranth oil is used, which:

  • activates the biochemical and biophysical reactions of the body;
  • shows antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing effect;
  • increases immune reactivity;
  • improves blood rheology and tissue respiration;
  • reduces inflammation;
  • stimulates the formation of granulations and epithelization of wounds;
  • reduces the number of high limb amputations.

Squalene, which is contained in amaranth oil to 8.0%, has a regulatory effect on the synthesis and level of ubiquinone, has detoxification and bactericidal properties.

Thus, the proliferative and antioxidant properties of amaranth oil are confirmed both in experimental studies and in clinical conditions.

Conclusions from research analysis
Studies have shown that in the occurrence and development of various pathological changes there is a pronounced lipid peroxidation syndrome, which occurs as a result of prolonged exposure to extreme factors of endogenous and exogenous origin and manifests an imbalance in the system of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection.
The course of various diseases is usually accompanied by depletion of endogenous antioxidants (AO), and damage caused by free radicals (CP) and POL (lipid peroxidation), requiring elimination by exogenous influences, which protect the body from the effects of excessive SRO (SRO). As it was established as a result of research and study of the oil extract, it is a strong, effective tool that provides a full-scale effect on the entire body as a whole and its individual organs in particular. Including because it restores the protective functions of the body, and also leads to normal metabolic processes, metabolism.
