Amaranth planted area will grow to 20,000 ha in 2020
According to the site “Superagron”, the total area of amaranth crops in Ukraine in 2020 will increase to 20,000 hectares. According to analysts, on a national scale, this is not so much, but it must be borne in mind that only three years ago, about 250 hectares were allocated for amaranth all over Ukraine. Therefore, today it can be argued that now in the country there is a real amaranth boom, but to call it the peak of the plant’s popularity will be wrong. It is likely that in the future the volume of crops will only grow.

According to the specialist, Ukrainian enterprises specializing in the processing of amaranth seeds adjusted to the above cost and ensured the profitability of their production.
Today, manufacturers are counting on a reduction in the price of 1 ton of seeds. Such expectations are due to the expected increase in supply in the core market. So, it is planned that the cost will decrease by about 20-25%. If in previous years it was 25,000 per ton of seeds, now it will be about 20,000.
Alexander Duda also notes the fact that, in general, the technology for growing amaranth is not so complicated, it can be mastered by almost any agricultural enterprise. The main thing is to adhere to the basic requirements:
- properly prepare the soil;
